Two Paths to Timon

Kellen Hopkins `24

The path of Timon is different for everyone.

Every student has different experiences and different paths to Timon. Like Kellen Hopkins, who was a transfer student from St. Francis. He attended St Francis for 2 years. He told us that it just was not the school for him.  Now that he is in Timon he is loving it. Growing up in South Buffalo, Kellen lived right next to Timon and made many friends within the community. But he thought maybe St. Francis could've been a different opportunity for him while playing football there as well. After 2 years at St. Francis, he realized that coming to Timon to finish high school was the better fit for him.

On the other hand, Matt Sands, a four-year student coming to Timon, his whole family had gone to Timon. From his grandfather to his dad, to his two older brothers. The whole Sands family came to Timon, some would call it a legacy. Coming into freshman year his plan was to make varsity hockey, and he did just that. His older brother Mike told Matthew that he was going to make lifelong friendships during his time here. At first, he didn't know how much to believe because of course as people get older your friends start to differ. But not for Matt, he's made multiple friends while being here, while still having the same ones from middle school as well.

While having two different students with two different stories, they both found their way in Timon and truly love it here and feel like they’ve both achieved a lot.
